PROVIDING REAL WORLD BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Montana's after-school programs are gems. This short film highlights some of these outstanding programs and explains how after-school programs enhance a student's whole education, as well as nourishes entire communities.
The MAPS Media Institute uniquely combines the real world of business with education. In 2005, MAPS acquired its first fee-based client. Since then, paying customers have included the Montana’s Office of the Governor, Center for Disease Control, State Farm Insurance, Meals on Wheels, Montana Afterschool Alliance, et al.
In 2010, MAPS initiated its service learning “Give Back” program in which students and staff donate their time and talent to community organizations like the Montana Hope Project, Bitterroot Valley Youth Homes and the Cultivating Connections Youth Farm Internship. In 2016, our “Give Back” program was formalized into a year-round, hands-on, community-based, service-learning class called MAPS Works: Connecting Community Through Media Arts led by an AmeriCorps VISTA service member.
